overdrive light blinking

overdrive light blinking

have 2000, 3.0L flex, with overdrive light blinking. High rpms, like overdrive off. Cut truck off and back on, light went off. Got code p0731. When i bought truck, had new motorcraft reman. trans.

any suggestions

overdrive light blinking

Check your fluid level, have you been messing around in mud/water or straining your transmission lately (it's ok to tell us)

Might go ahead and change the filter and fluid that comes out with it. See if you see any metal shavings but it may be on its way out.

Thought about changing fluid. What do you think about type 5 fluid. I've used it before, to fix torque converter shutters. And by the way, tranny has not acted up since that one time.

Do you have a 4r44e or 5r55e?

Could be as simple as an overdrive band adjustment.

There is a transmission code on your sticker in the driver side door jam

just say tr=t, Not sure how to decode label.

And i have not issue since, been driving truck as normal?
