Passenger airbag questions
My 2007 Ranger didn't come with a switch or key to manually set to disable/enable the passenger airbag. It had an occupant classification sensor and pressure sensor built into the passenger seat; so when there wasn't anyone in the seat, the airbag was automatically 'deactivated'. It would be automatically activated when there was someone sitting there.
I would like to remove the passenger seat to do some customization on that side of the cabin. Therein, doing without any seating for passengers. I would guess though, when the passenger seat is removed, and the plug underneath it unplugged, part of the restraint control module circuit is then 'broken' causing a system error. Even affecting the driver airbag.
After removing the passenger seat, somewhat permanently, how would I 'set' my system such that the driver airbag still works? Would I also need to remove the passenger airbag module from the dash as well? What do I need to do? Thank you.
