Pedals uneven... Throttle cable too long?

My throttle pedal has a ton of play and so it sits far lower than the brake pedal. It's causing me some discomfort in my knee and ankle having to pivot my foot so far to operate both for more than a few short drives a day.

If I bring the pedal closer to the level of the brake pedal then almost an inch of cable sticks out of the top of the pedal... I assume I could just add a cable stop to keep the pedal at that level... but is there an actual adjustment for either pedal? I'd rather not have to use the a stop as they deform and weaken the cable once removed.

common problem with Ford rangers

Most people just use plastic zip ties wrapped around the excess space, some people have used crimp on fishing weights.

Not a very clear picture but you get the idea

Cool thanks. I think I'll try the fishing weights or split some nylon spacers then tape and tie them around the cable.

Mine was the same, I bent the pedal arm so it takes up the slack, small zip tie to fine tune, took a few tries to get it right, now have high pedal, mine also has a spring on it.

Let me rephrase. I bent the top of the metal bar forward where the cable goes through.almost to where the bar is straight.

I split a 10¢ masonry anchor and zip-tied it around the cable. Feels like a whole different vehicle. It will kick-down to 2nd at full throttle now too.
