Power window and door lock conversion.
I'm sure I can get them to work, I'm just thinking about the locks. As is i don't have power locks but the new motor I have came from a truck with keyless entry so if I hook up power doors to the truck, will the FOB work to lock n unlock the doors? I just don't know what part controls the power locks with keyless entry because I have the FOB that came with the new motor.
When I was talking to people about adding the pwr windows and locks I was told I would need a module for them to work so I gave up on the idea since the truck was gone but maybe something new.
Cory777, said he was working on the idea of pwr locks without the fob but maybe you can add an aftermarket receiver to actuate the lock/unlock.
That is what I will be doing when I get there but first the stereo/speakers/sub, then the soundproofing the doors, then the pwr windos, then the new grille, then , then… too many things to do.

Start a thread and ask around on this site in the Interior/Electrical Section and see who comes back to you.
I know there are some really knowledgeable guys on this site so ask away.
For the power door locks the module in question for a 2000 ranger is the Remote Anti-Theft Personality Module (RAP). In addition to that you'll need the All Unlock, All Lock, and Drivers Unlock relays and may have to upgrade the GEM.
For the power windows, you'll need the One Touch Down relay, IP harness as there is an inline resistor and will probably have to upgrade the GEM.
For what its worth, I'd look at an aftermarket system. Take a look at this site Click Link

Read the thread about using OEM Parts and not the OEM Harness.

This has me interested now... I have an 01' Ranger XLT. No power windows or locks.
I could care less about locks honestly. Windows however are nice.
I don't have a junk yard anywhere near me so going to one and finding all factory parts is impossible.
This seems like the way to go:
A1 Electric Online Store: Power Window Kit for 93-2005 Ford Ranger by Electric Life
Comes with two motors and levers.
Buying this one ebay:
98 07 Ford Ranger Left Master Power Window Lock Switch w Trim Bezel Nice | eBay
Simply use that switch OR use the whole panel... because just buying the switch alone on ebay is around $50.... so why not just get the insert...?
In theory you would wire the motors up to a 12v source then the switches.... so you really would only have at most 6-8 wires going into the door panel right? I've wired up an OHC, in dash navi/rear view camera...etc. So this shouldn't be too difficult to wire up but just wanted to make sure.
Aftermarket definitely seems the way to go if one doesn't have access to pull an entire wire harness from a junked ranger... right?

Just my opinion !
Read this How-To first and decide if all stock parts is something that will work for you.

If not, consider the A-1 On-Line Store.

Factory equipped
My 1997 ranger XLT 3.0l came equipped with power loch parts in the door no provision for the maxi fuse 20 amp connectorin the relay box under the hood. No power lock switch in the door panel but all actuators and relay behind the glove box. Would this be a simple convert for remote access under these circumstances?
Need help '15 ranger oem power window upgrade
Hi all
i have a 2.2L 4x4 ranger basic which i upgraded my windows from manual cranks to power window recently.
The upgrade consisted of-Door card replacement-electric motor mechanism
-orginal wire harness(looms)
However, ever since the upgrade was done my 2 rear doors are NOT getting locked (no signal to it itseems) and since its an all electric central lock, the vehicle doesnt lock itself even by remote/ key anymore.
all we did was just plugged out the old harness and plugged in the new ones with no cuts to the existing wiring.
Electric windows work perfectly now but cant lock the vehicle anymore.
Please help!

First off I have done this to my 01 ranger, i took all the parts off a 04 ranger, here is what you need to do a factory install conversion.
(1) donor doors with power power wires connected, (do not cut the wires that go from the door to under the dash, just disconnect them)
(2) donor dash..reason is ( you need to swap your entire dash wiring for the donor dash wiring) be sure to take out donor truck seats, because the dash wiring runs all the down through carpet and under seat, and connects to your wiring harness connector underneath the truck.
(3) take the donor white box that sits behind the glovebox. (this is a important item as it will allow you to lock and unlock your truck with a programmable donor key)
(4) remove donor entire fuse box that go from the drivers side brake master cylinder,(you need to take it in its entirety.(this box and wires run from the above mentioned area and connects to various components throughout the front end of the ranger and over to the other side of the truck.
thats it, all done, remmeber to only take donor parts from a non cruise control vehicle if this is your case, or you can do the opposite, although you still can use the harness if it has a cruise control female clip on it, it will just be inoperable and you can always add cruise control later as i did, but that another story. I hope this helps.
