Power window question

My 2001 Ranger has a problem with both (power) windows. They both shudder when they are traveling down.Has anyone else experienced this?It doesn't really hurt anything, but it's very annoying.Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Gary

Yup, it was a very common thing when I pickup up my 01. I beleive there may have even been a TSB by Ford. The dealer lubed the tracks on mine at least once under warranty, but that was years ago. I learned to live with it, as nothing ever worked for good.

My friend's '01 has done it since he got it. My '09 has done it since day one. While it's annoying, I just deal with it. I should take it to get it looked out, but I figure it's one of those things that is a genetic trait of the ranger!

I haven't had a Ranger one off BUT, take off any door panel hardware, like the door pulls, door handle cups etc. then the panel itself should be held to the door with mostly push pins (I would imagine).Shouldn't be to hard to do.

Also if you go to the parts store and get some silicone spray.Spray the door weatherstrip seals that are around the window area. This will help a little to.It's not a permanate fix,but will last for a little bit.
