03 instrument cluster

ive been thinkin about buying one of the white back ground ranger or explorer instrument clusters and i was just wondering how hard would it be to switch it out with mine and do i have to realign any of the needles bc i thought i had read something about repositioning the mph needle? any help would be great. thanks any by the way its a 2003 ford ranger 4x4 5 speed

It should just plug right in no need to mess with the needles unless your changing the odometer to match the milage on your truck.

I changed the gauge face out in an '02 Grand Am GT for a friend of mine and it required removing the needles but it's not hard as long as you take pics and put them right back on in the exact position that you removed them from. If you can do without removing them like Mark98XLT mentioned above, it will be even easier.

The cluster is a direct swap. No needles moving at all.

thanks my truck has 61,000 and its od has like 71,000 so ill jus wait a while to install it. thanks

you can swap the actual rear components of the speedo only and just have to remove that needle. this is what i did so that i kept the same odo in the truck.

there is a procedure over on rps that show you how to realign the speedo, pretty easy really.

just follow the steps within this how to to realign the needle or you can do what he did to your new cluster.

will a 2001 ford explorer sport trac instrument cluster work in my 2003 ford ranger with out any problems
