Pre Wired power windows

First off Ive spent the better part of 2 days using the search function as well as forum hoping looking for my answer. But the source of my confusion is my truck has manual everything for the doors. I follow the wiring back through the door into the truck and at the plug there are 3 wires. I guess those are 2 speaker wires and one door ajar wire. But the truck side of the plug has probably 10 wires going into it. Everyone that talks about pre wired trucks says its in the doors. Well I know thats not my case but I think I may have the dash wiring predone and also all my power option fuses are filled with the proper fuses. So in summary my question is did any truck come with the dash wiring already done and just needs the door side of it?

I have done quite a few power door swaps on 1992-1997 F-series trucks and thats how they are minus the cross over wire for the passenger door as its a one piece harness. So I am familiar with the ins and outs of this stuff. Just not the little details on the ranger

On that truck side of the connector look for these color wires:

LB/BK
W/Y
T/LB
PK/BK
PK/Y
PK/LG

Those are wires used by the locks and windows (driver side)

If you have any more questions or problems just let me know. I did the whole wiring swap, GEM, RAPS, thing to my 2000. If you are adding "guts" to the doors instead of swapping them make sure you get the door ajar switches for power doors. The connector faces a different angle (only difference) non power door ajar switches, the connector will keep you from snapping in the door lock actuator.

All I was gonna do was swap in power window regulators and use the factory harness I get from some truck. It spears I am not pre wired though. Now are those colors for 95 and up or 98 and up cause when I did remote start I had to use 97 wiring to match colors. My trucks build date is late 97 so its weird

It was for a 1998 model. Its the same as 1997 (just checked).

Can you give a list of what wires you see on the truck side of the connector, that could help out some.

I know a real way to tell if you are prewired is to look for a relay box pinned behind the dash to the right of were the steering column is (kinda between where the steering column is and your radio, but behind the whole dash assembly.

Can I wake up this old thread? I'm curious also on how to tell if my 99 ford ranger XLT is prewired for power windows/door/mirrors? I've already determined it isn't wired for cruise which has me thinking it most likely isn't wired for the other power items. Where exactly should I look to determine if mine is prewired? As for the relays under the dash I also have a black plastic box up under the dash in the area spoke of in the previous post. Any chance someone can post pics of what I'm looking for? I'm new to this site and will try to figure out how to post pics of the box on my truck. Thanks in advance.

Easiest way to tell, pop the kick panel off the door and look at the door plug. A lot of wires means pre wired, only 5-7 wires means its not

Well I took my sweet time getting around to pulling off the kick panel on the passenger side and it has 4 wires coming out of the door into the plug and on the truck side of the plug it has 5 wires going into the plug. I'm guessin it's not prewired. So what's the next step if I want to install power windows/locks/mirrors. Also I figure while I'm at it I want to install cruise control and tilt steering.
