random question..

so i was at school and a classmate drove by in his crawler toyota.. now this may be easy to answer and obvious and i may just be dumb, but when he turned corners the outside tire "skipped" it turned a few inches, stopped, drug, and then rotated more and did it over and over through the whole corner. is it an offroad thing, a gear thing, is it badass or not good.. lol i got no idea and was just wondering

IF it is a full time locker or it is welded... ya.

If its a selectable locker then you can open it up on the street.

Most likely your friend is running a spool or a welded diff. Which means both axle shafts are locked together and cannot spin at different speeds. A Detroit, lock Right,Aussie or any other carrier type of locker will ratchet when making a turn to allow for different tire speeds in a turn.
