Rattle / Clanging
Rattle / Clanging
I have a 2000 Ranger XLT 4x4. Shortly after I hauled an engine in the back of my truck, I started to hear a rattle / clanging sound coming out from beneath my truck. It tends to be the loudest in between 25 - 30 mph (also the speed range that my mud tires tend to resonate.... related issues?). It sounds like a somewhat long (6" - 12" ??) peice of sheetmetal or metal tubing. I have been under the truck multiple times trying to find something loose with no luck. IT IS DRIVING ME NUTS!!!! Does anyone have any suggestions on what it might be or how to find the rattle??
Yup...my guess is that the heat shields as rattling...either cataladic converters, gastank, or the one above the stock muffler.
BTW.....AWESOME Kaiser by the way....love those things. I want to put a twin turbo Cummins in one. Sorry about the thread hack.
