rear cab lights
anyone know what controls the rear clear cab lights on either side of the third brake light ( which works fine)? ( 2000 ranger) told reverse lights but not getting power to either side when in reverse...the reverse lights in taillights are working fine.. thought were cargo lights but don't see a switch anywhere to turn them on...any assistance would be greatly appreciated this something about my truck i wanted to do something about since i bought it almost..thanks

tried them tonight granted it is raining but they basically just light up the inside of the box.. will have to think of an alternative setup instead

Get some auxilarry lights to mount up under your bumper area.. I just got 2 sets delivered in the mail today, along wtih a bunch of other stuff.. I'll take a few pics of them, I havent wired or mounted anythign up yet.. only because I dont have an extra wire-in jumper for it... will probably pick one up tomorrow

So you looking for more light for backing up? There's tons of options out there. Plug in reverse lamps(in your tail lights!) aren't that much of a difference.
Get some auxilary back ups mounted under your bumper/beside your hitch or whatever. I'm running 130W KC backup lights. They ususally run about $70. They come stock with 55w bulbs, but i added 130w bulbs. Any aux light works...heck...shoot....even tractor aux lights work perfectly fine. I ran those on a few rigs before.

hrm I'm tempted myself to wire up my cargo lights up next the 3rd brake light into my reverse lights since I never use my cargo lights anyways. I just think it would be a neat looking mod to have them come on too when backing up. Also it would improve visibility to other drivers with me having higher backup lights then in just the tails themselves.
I'm just not sure what wire i need to tap into though under the dash. Does anyone know what color wire feeds the backup lights?

and I also have the line of fire with the white reverse lights, and it was a total waste of the extra money unless you want to look cool while backing up

any problem towing, etc with them mounted there? not crazy about mounting lights under my rear bumper ( like the clean look) but if can be done so looks good comestically i'd consider it... sorta doubted the line of fire idea don't think leds would be bright enough to make a difference... especially for the $90 spent

The bulbs are just regular reverse lights, but I did notice a huge difference in the light output when I got the 06 tails. It puts out a lot of light on the sides which I why I wanted more light in the center, aimed ferther out.
This is actually a video of my exhaust, but you can see how I did the back up lights and they actually kick on a couple times cuz I had the truck in reverse when I started it up

I try to keep the clean look and I think it turned out pretty good rather than some of the other setups I've seen

LMC truck sells a bumper with reverse lights already molded into it, but it's the older style bumper that I don't agree with for the newer trucks

thats looks pretty good...maybe easier with a rollpan, but don't really want to lose the bumper hitch... gotta see what wallyworld carries for slim clear lites ...gotta look into that LMC bumper too sounds like a good idea
