Rear speed sensor
Rear speed sensor
I was driving one night and my ABS light comes on and I lose my ABS. I took it to a shop to have the problem Diagnosed and I was told it was a rear speed sensor. He wanted over 300 dollars to fix it and that seemed a little high to me. I dont know much about ABS systems I really only do suspension and motor stuff. Could anyone help me out with a few things like where it is and If this is something I can try to clean. Also how hard are they to replace yourself. Pics would be great if anyone can.
Thanks for all the help.

Assuming that the diagnosis is correct, you can fix it by swapping the sensor in 10 minutes for $20. It's a straight bolt in with no adjustments necessary. I'd definitely avoid the guy with the $300+ estimate.
Ya I was sooooo pissed this guys usually has been real cool. He let me install the lift on my old truck in his shop, gave me a few tips here and there and didnt even charge me. Now i take this truck in for a check engine light and the ABS light and he charges me 90 bucks just to run the scanner.
