Yes, if you protect them from the elements. That was what dealers were instructed to do before repair parts were available. However, I see no point in doing that since the repair is free and takes all of five minutes to do. There is just no reason to go without cruise or possibly cause issues with the ABS when there are parts readily available to fix it.

 

Man I was hoping that it would involve them replacing my cruise control switches on my steering wheel (the lights have been dead forever).

 

Does this mean I shouldn't use my cruise until it's fixed? I use it everytime I'm driving but don't want to blow up...

 

the fact that it can happen even if the truck is off means that it wont matter if you use it or not
