Relay wiring...

I'm going to be building a switch box with a sister relay box as well for some auxiliary equipment. I was wondering what some of you, who may have experience in this particular area, think about using 18 AWG sprinkler wire as the "control" line from the switch box to the relay panel.

For those of you that need a refresher...

The wire is fairly inexpensive, has a good amount of channels (8, is what I'm shooting for) and has a really thick jacket around the wires which should be excellent for heat/cold, vibration against other parts, general wear and tear.

So what do you think?

If your only using it for the control side of the relays (coil) it should be ok as the coil only draws roughly about 0.13 amps. However, the switching side its dependent on the current draw of the auxiliary equipment the relay will supply power to.

Just remember to fuse them. If their going to share a common bus for power a single 5 amp fuse will work for all 8.
