Rims and tires for 97 Splash 7' Bed
Rims and tires for 97 Splash 7' Bed
I am running on 14 inch rims with scrap yard tires that need replacing. My spare is bent.
one source suggests 195, 205, and 215 70 R14 as recommended.
another source suggests 235 60 R15
My trailer has a Tongue weight of 200 lb
I have been tempted by a good used set of balanced 225-70 15 for $350
Not sure if one path is better than another.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

My ranger came with a set of 30" tires. They fit on it fine. They raised the truck up about 6". They also rubbed on the front sway bar when turning corners. So you can fit some fairly large tires on these trucks. But if you plan to tow bigger tires will definitely hurt your low end torque.
Maybe the 15s would be better though. Much easier to find replacements. Nobody makes 14s anymore. I went through that trying to get stock wheels back on mine. I basically had 3 choices of tire to choose from in 14s. None really that great.
Splash came with these sizes in 97 from the factory, not finding any other size listed as an option on the Splash
4x2 = 235/60 R15 = 26.1 inches tall
4x4 = 235/75 R15 = 28.9 inches tall
The tires you are looking at
225/70 R15 = 27.4 inches tall
