Seafoam soon.
Seafoam soon.
If anybody can really talk me out of this. I suggest you go for it.
I've acquired a second lifter tick recently. that really bugs me cause it isn't going away like the first one usually does. So i think i'm going to seafoam, Just the Crankcase and Vacuum tube part tho. I'm about 100 miles or so from an oil change. I've heard some people say you need to change you plugs too, should i go pick up a set?
Anyways, everyone that has a good opinion in my book is telling me that i'm asking for trouble seafoaming at 165k mile leaky engine. so if i lock up my truck this weekend. it'll be my own fault.
Anyone got any suggestions? I've got to make the truck last to around January.

i seafomed the pos green truck i had with 198k on it because i had to change the plugs, wires, and oil anyway. it went from not being able to do a brakestand to being able to do one after i finished doing everything. It is recommended to change the plugs after you do it though. they're cheap, pick a set up (i used motorcraft)

if you plan on pushing quite a bit of fluid into the vaccum tube with the truck at idle then definitely replace the sparks. I had a bud rev it to 2k and fed the vacuum tube and it just gets burned quicker. Ive heard it helps but who really knows.
and do not dip the tube in the seafoam. that is asking to get hydrojammed. it wont burn your skin so put your thumb over the top of the can and slowly pour it into the vacuum. itll suck it in and this way you can control the dose.
It'll be just me, so i'm not gonna rev it up or anything, but i was going to put a funnel in the hose (i think i have one that'll fit) and i'll just pour it in slowish, I know you can't pour too much in or else you'll Hydro lock it.
