I bought one of these on eBay for about $150:
It's very nice. Has onboard text decoding and is flash upgradeable (free) via internet. Great gadget. Specs here: http://www.canobd2.com/tool/3110.asp
This is the display. The circles at the top are the I/M monitors (emission and diagnostic monitors). This is what the inspection people look for. A missing circle is a monitor that your vehicle doesn't have, an open circle is one that is incomplete, and a filled circle is one that has completed. A blinking circle means a monitor can't run because of a problem with the engine or control system.
