question on brakes

ok I got a dumb question, the wife noticed when she puts the parking brake on the light does not light up, the bulb is ok as it lights on startup. now last week it would go on occasionally, the fluid was low, i filled it that took care of that, any one have any ideas on why it wont go on with the parking brake engaged?

Mine went bad last year. It wasn't a normally stocked part at any stealership in my state, so it took a couple days... Even the new one is touchy, and will stay on sometimes, even though the pedal is not engaged.

To test if it's the sensor, pull out the wire harness, which should have 1 wire. Ground the wire, and the light will come on the dash. That's how I checked mine.

I think it was like 15 bucks or so.

It's better then not having the e-brake not fully release when you pull the lever. That happened to me exactly once. I heard it click so I thought I was good. Drove about a mile and thought it was shifting pretty hard. Noticed the brake light was on. Had brake problems ever since (pulls to the left but not consistently). I think my brand new drum brakes are torched, but I'm too afraid/don't have the tools to look.
