sloppy shifter

I have a 94 2wd with a 5 speed. My question is, is there anyway to get the shifter from not being so sloppy? (if that makes sense) when its in gear it almost feels like its in neutral. is there a rebuild kit or bushings I might need?

thanks

Sounds like the bushing is warn out. Had that issue in my old probe. Should only need to replace the bushing itself, but if you have a few extra bucks to spend go ahead and get a hurst short throw shifter. Can get the off summitracing.com for around 200.
