Speed limitations on 03 Supercab XLT

I just bought a 03 4.0L supercab xlt. I got it on the highway and it tops out 90 and you can tell it definitely could go much faster. why is there a governor on it and how do I remove it?

it's safer to sell a truck that goes 90mph then a truck that goes 120+ and another thing is i never seen a 90mph speed limit sign before so why go that fast in a truck, but anyways enough of rant get a programmer and you can take it off

Get a SCT Xcal 2 or 3. You will be able to take the speed governor off.

a tuner( one used mostly on here is sct xcal or bama chips) will give you custom tunes to what you have done to your truck, its custom, unlike super chips witch are "off the shelf" tunes. those are not near worth the money. tuners can do many many things, including removing of governers and limiters. the best way to learn about the features is get a hold of a tuner and talk to them

are these tuners expensive? I plan on keeping the truck completely stock but would just like to remove the governor and maybe get some extra horsepower if possible without damaging or stressing the motor. I really just want to remove the governor, I don't plan on going over 90 often or at all but I don't like to be limited. Let me know what you think I should do.

It shows you had custom tunes loaded in. A lot of dealers will void engine warranty because of it

LMAO at going 90 in 3rd gear. Must have been a heck of a hill
