speed limiter

Ok I'm sure this has been asked before but here goes. My 03 Fx4 cuts out at 140 km/h (87 mph) and my friends 03 Fx4 doesnt cut out at all and the trucks are Identical. The only thing I can think of is that his was built in Ontario and mine was built in Pennsylvania or some thing. is there a chip I can remove ? It's kinda a pain in the ***. My 95 ranger cut out too but went to 160 km/h.

You can buya superchip for like 300-400 which will not only remove the limiter BUT also make you significantly faster than him!

5 years difference, and 2 different engines. Why is this relavent?

My truck was doing 115 MPH, before it hit the governer. I took it to the dealer after posting here, and had them reflash the ECM. Now my truck tops at 99 MPH.

Why exactly is having your truck top out at 87 a "pain in the ***"? Why do you need to go that fast anyway?

Regardless, it's chip it, or reflash the PCM -- there's no other options that work.
