stalls while driving

I read a post on here already and it didn't match my problem. here is what's going on with my 2002 ford ranger xlt 4x2. I went out of town to look at car to buy, I got there with no problem, on my way back I stopped to get gas and about 5 minutes after driving down the road my truck just dies on me, it started right back up, and about 10 minutes later I looked down at the gauges and my oil pressure gauge just flicked to Low and it died again. what are some possible explanations for this? I am a mechanic for the army and I haven't seen this problem at all with Humvees nor my truck.

I had a 2002 Ranger that would do that too. I think I saw somewhere recently it was cured by a reflash of computer.

What brand gas station? Mom and Pop or big name? How low were you when you filled up?

The oil pressure blip was probably just due to the engine dying.

could be 2 things

you filled your tank with fuel that was contaminated with water

how long since you replaced the fuel filter on your ranger

Sheltonfilms It was a mom and pops store, and I was at just under a half tank.
Cheese_man I didn't replace it but my dad did before he gave it to me which was in 2014... I think it's about that time again lol

mom and pop fuel outlets buy their fuel from any distributor they can , fuel that does not meet the reputable gas stations quality standards.

more than likely that mom and pop gas station fuel storage tank has holes in it
