steering column creeking

when ever i move the steering wheel it creeks very loudly and noticable. It seems to be inside the cab, is there anywhere that requires grease in my steering column, or can i take apart the plastic and WD-40 it and see if that helps?

I'm anxious to see the results of this because I have the same issue. Although I fear it just may be the notorious squeeking of the Ford power steering pumps, and the noise is just noticeable in the cab as well.

Was it creeking before you had the pump replaced? If not, I'd take it back to Ford and have them check it out.

I'm with Rev.

Btw there is a boot in the firewall. you can take that and spray with some wd-40 but i doubt its the rubber boot.

I'd say thats your best bet, especially since they just got done working with it and the noise is from the region in which they were working. Make sure to let us know what it turns out to be diagnosed as.

This noise is *usually* tie rod joints. Or sometimes ball joints. Does it get worse with colder temps and at first operation for the day?
