Are you still using the automatic PCM?

If so, you need to make sure the transmission range selector is connected to it's wiring harness, and turn the range selector to neutral. This will allow the truck to start until you can fix the wiring so you won't need the range selector.

Are you sure the range selector is in neutral? Did you swap the keys, ignition lock cylinder, or do anything with the wiring at all?

Hmmm, are the lights and everything else working, and it just won't start?

Did you remove the PCM connector by chance? Make sure the bolt that holds the connector in is tight.

Did you swap starters when you did the swap? I know the 3.0's used the same starter, but the 4.0's use a different starter between automatic and manual. Are all the starter connections clean and tight?

Id recheck the range sensor mine was a pain to find neutral you can't just count the clicks its weird there are more positions than gears at least on mine. i had to go one position at a time till i found one that worked.
