Sway-bar link, broken since purchase.

I have found out that the rattling chain sound I hear is the sway bar link that is busted on my truck.

I asked CarMax four years ago, when I purchased the vehicle to find and 'repair' this noise, but was told it was normal, and nothing was wrong.

Any advice on what I should do?

I don't want to spend $ that if I could possibly get fixed for free, or reimbursed for.

I'm sure somewhere I have the 'receipt' from CarMax, about this 'chain rattling' when I originally purchased the truck.

What could this sway bar link cause problem wise?

New links are CHEAP! And I'm sure there's members with links here they could sell ya for next to nothing. I've got 4 of them but none are going byebye since my brother and I keep parts to make our trucks stock should the need arise. Or shoot...hit up a junkyard or hit me up through PM. I got a few yards here with tons of 98+ rangers w/ intact suspension.

You know what gets me...

Of the three tire rotations I've had, new tires...

It took the brake guys to point out to me that the chain noise I heard wasn't normal.
(Mind you I mentioned it to the other garages. The guy at the brake store discovered it on his own, and investigated the chain noise himself.)
