Tapping into the 4 ways
Hey guys, I have a wiring question.
A while back I bought one of those remote keyless entry kits (got a DLR-4, to give a model #) and wired it up to my truck. Works great, just one issue. I tapped into the brown wire at the headlight switch (as per the instructions that came with the unit) for the parking lights. This wire should flash my 4 ways when I hit remote lock or unlock, or even the little parking-light button. Problem is, when I do any of the above, ALL of my interior lights flash and I get a dinging sound inside the cabin (like I click the switch to parking lights, then back real quick).
Is there a better place to tap into the parking lights on my '97 so that I ONLY get the 4 ways to flash? Would be much appreciated.
