ticking noise under my engine?

ok the file format of these files are off of my phone...they are *.3gp..never heard of that format but they open fine with quicktime.

crappy quality but u can still hear the ticking noise..might need to turn down your speakers..I have headphones so I cant say much for speakers..anyway it sounds like its either coming from my belt area or near my cat..its more dominant on the passenger side.

Right-click and save then open with quicktime

I couldn't get the vid to play either. :-(

I had an odd ticking under the hood one day after I had checked my fluid levels (oil, transmission, etc) and found that the noise was coming from the oil dipstick. I removed the dipstick & turned it 90 degrees, slid it back in and it didn't tick anymore.

Quicktime didn't like me opening that with it, I used WMP 10 or 11 and it worked fine.

As for the tick, i would have no clue what that sound is.

I could not open it... But first. Check your oil level. Next.... If it sounds like valve or lifter noise try a little Marvel mystery oil, or sea foam.

An old porsche trick we used to use was to drain the oil. Then refill with 2 quarts of ATF (yes ATF) and 3 quarts of 5w30 oil. Run the Car at idle for 10 minutes with then drain and refill with oil. The ATF was a detergent and it really cleaned up all the valves, and the Hydraulic lifters.

I did that but still if you just click it it comes up with all those weird symbols, but still if you right click and save it, it still opens fine with quicktime
