tire size

I have a 2004 XLT - FX4 off road and I want to put larger then stock wheels and tires on it. At present I am running this tire size P 245 / 75 / 16 - 100s, DUNLOP RV XT - RADIAL ROVERS on stock rims. What are the largest wheels and tires it will except WITHOUT affecting the transmission / brakes / cooling system etc. I know the gas mileage will drop but what can ya do.
Thanks for the help.
Dave

265x75x16 are a good choice for your current wheels.

I am not sure what you mean by larger wheels and tires... What size wheel do you want to run?

285x75x16 is ran sometimes but not that often as it will rub some.

265s should not rub.

IMO it really comes down to how you use the tire. Are you just wanting a look? Or go off roading?

I'm a street guy myself. (about the only one here at R-F w/a 4x4 too LOL)
When I upgrade I'll probably go with some 15" wheels & 32" tires. Then just live with what ever reduced turn radius & articulation I need to. Shoot.. the only reason I have 4x4 is because of Michigan winters. Gotta admit I do like the look though.
