trying to install maplight

hey I bought this model to install in my ranger and all I'm confused on is the part where you run the power wire, where does it need to go on the map light?

I bought the round all clear plastic one, not the mustang version, but are they the same?

Mine just threaded in and work, but I think that after 03 they wernt setup the same to be able to do that. Mine came with like an adapter on the back that I had to take off for mine to work, but you might need that adapter, cuz it had wires coming out of it.If it turns out I think I still have it floating around somewhere let me know and I might be able to ship it to you for cost of shipping.

You probably need another power wire for yours. Now where it goes I have no clue.

got it working but its the one with the switch in the middle...

atm if I switch to left it kills the left side then if I try to turn on the right bulb it kills the right... and if the doors are closed and the truck is off when I goto use the darn thing none of them work... only if the illumination switch is bumped on...

On my 05 I used the wire from here

Use a wire tap to splice into the Green/orange wire

Black = Constant
RED = Switched
Yellow= Ground
