Viper 5901or Python 991

So I just recently enjoyed the luxury of having my truck broken into and have my about 1500 bucks of stereo equipment stolen. Thank god I had it was already covered by insurance so I'm not too pissed.

But like the title says, Viper 5901or Python 991. Both companies are owned by DEI and the alarms look to be exactly the same so why is the Python on average 30 bucks cheaper. I already know with either one I will add the back up battery and audio sensor. So which is the "better" alarm.

Thanks for the replys in advance.

in all honesty they are probably going to be about the same. I think that extra $30 is for the name. Viper sounds better than Python haha.

I do have the 5901 with backup battery and audio sensor though. I really like it.

I would look at the new Viper 3303 though, unless you really want the autostart. It will be cheaper and easier to install. Are you planning to install it yourself or have it installed?

Yeah I do think the extra 30 is the name, i did see the 3303 the only thing that steers me away is the range its only 1500 feet compared to the 1 mile for the 5901. how much is you buddy selling the 991?
