Water in my Driver's side door

It rained heavily last night and I wen t out to run some errands today and as I closed my door i heard some water sloshing. At first i thought it might be from the bed or something so i opene and closed the door again and realized it was coming from INSIDE my door. Now I figure i can leave out exposed to sun and it will eventually evaporate out, but i need to know
a) how can i get it out now

b) how can i prevent it from happening again.

also, i checked the passenger side door, but there was no water in it.

if anyone has any experience with this, please help.

thanks in advance

My driver door would hold in water when I washed my truck. There are plastic clip things on the bottom of the door. I Just moved mine around and the door started draining properly. Take the panel off if you have to and clean all the crap on the inside bottom of the door.

Once every year , during a dry spell where it hasn't rained in 3-4 weeks ,I pour some 'clean' oil in the bottom of my doors and run an oil soaked rag around in there.
No more problem with the door bottoms rusting out.

yeah there are little plastic tabs at the bottom of the doors. I just keep them out so no water builds up, cause I noticed it one time after a hard rain in my passenger door.
