what is a Remote Starter Switch

I am getting ready to troubleshoot/test my starter motor system and the steps to do it, I am to use a 'remote starter switch' between starter solenoid and battery positive and wonder what is that switch and where can I get it form.
Thanks

Wirelessly posted

It a button that is connected to your starter that allows you to start the truck from under the hood.

it talks about them in manuals but it really is something you don't need very often....whats your problem? a multimeter will do you better than a remote starter will imo...there's steps to tell you whats at fault, battery, starter, or alternator....

if your truck won't start it usually is in this order of the most likely culprit...

1) Battery
2) Starter
3) Alternator

ive done everything but the alternator on my ride and its all easy to do...if its the battery, it will have a low charge after sitting for awhile, have to jump all the time, a bad starter usually will not turn over at all, and a bad alternator will not send back the correct voltage, sometime not enough and too much...that's why i say a fluke/multimeter will be of more help.....
