what website can i order headers for my 2001 4.0 sohc. I heard jba is the only company that makes them but thats fine by me. What is the site that has the cheapest price. thanks

 

i'd like to know too. and i dont know if its possible to get some company to set up a group buy, there is probably alot of interest

so i take it the ohc is the same thing as sohc. but what is an egr? i am confused on what to buy

 

Um yes ohc is same as sohc but dont get confused with ohv. Egr is an engine management valve that comes on certain years. rangers if at all equipped with and egr come on the passenger side and I beleive they EGR for the sohc are on 2003 and up models. You can cap the egr spot for the pre 2003 ranger sohcs but you must have the egr for the 2003 up. you can check for the egr on the passenger side exhaust manifold. it will be a sort of T if I understand correctly. might want to check both sides JUST to be sure though. ford is funky sometimes...

 

thanks a lot... is there a big differencer between the chrome headers and the titanium? is it worth the extra cash.

 

I bought mine from proficientperformance.com. That was the cheapest place I found at the time.
also, the EGR is on the drivers side.

 

chrome will rust easier... probably about a 5-6 year life difference...

 

Can you tell a difference in power increse or a difference in sound?

I put on the exhaust and headers at the same time. there was a big change in sound, and an increase in power.
