Um yes ohc is same as sohc but dont get confused with ohv. Egr is an engine management valve that comes on certain years. rangers if at all equipped with and egr come on the passenger side and I beleive they EGR for the sohc are on 2003 and up models. You can cap the egr spot for the pre 2003 ranger sohcs but you must have the egr for the 2003 up. you can check for the egr on the passenger side exhaust manifold. it will be a sort of T if I understand correctly. might want to check both sides JUST to be sure though. ford is funky sometimes...

Headers

I bought mine from proficientperformance.com. That was the cheapest place I found at the time.
also, the EGR is on the drivers side.

I put on the exhaust and headers at the same time. there was a big change in sound, and an increase in power.

hey, just wanted to let you all know that they are having a clearance sale at truckperformance.com on jba headers with driverside egr with the titanium ceramic coating....they are 461 with free shipping. i just saw it when i was browsing(sp) and seemed like a good deal. i would buy them, but at the moment i dont remember what side my egr is on and the 1 with the passenger side egr is not on clearance and is still 622.... http://truckperformance.com/product...ANGER/sf4_4.0l/
