Whats the Deal?

ok this has nothing to do with rangers but why is it that car/truck mufflers are like 50-100 bucks but yet if you try to get a muffler for a atv its like 250-350 bucks. whats with that? if someone could tell me why it would be nice.

Maybe its specific fit vs universal fit? I would think the ATV ones would be tougher too since they're more exposed and need to hold up better. Other than that i have no idea lol

Mufflers for powertoys are tuned to the engines usually, unlike cars where they aren't really performance specific.

And if you think thats bad..

My 701cc Superjet, the "Type B" exhaust costs 600$ brand new.
My 927cc Superjet, I have a "WDK wet exhaust" thats costs 900$ brand new
And I need to purchase a new exhaust this coming year, a "Powerfactor dry pipe exhaust
, which costs 1100$ brand new.

One of roommates races his 4 wheeler, he tells me, take a part for a car or truck, multiply it by 3, and you're close to price of part that for the ATV.

Probably a mixture of low quantities produced, 'fitted' for a specific engine, and because they can.

not as bad when you go custom. prefabbed crap usually has issues with cost and fitment.

You can get a custom exhaust for sometimes cheaper than a name brand exhaust in the turbo car world.

I would recommend searching around for exhaust i know my friend recently got a whitebrothers for his predator for a real great deal new.
