whats my ranger worth
whats my ranger worth
Ive been trying to sell my ranger for the past months, i looked up the value on KBB and NADA. SO i but it on craigslist and i havent recieved and calls. Whats it really worth? (2004 FX4 4.0 3in BL 33' mickey tompson roll down topper, and rhino liner. 48xxx miles 5 speed) I was hoping i would get around 16 to 17 but maybe im all wet on that
You really cant expect to get anything extra for the mods. You gotta sell it for a price that a bone stock FX4 would go for.
Especially now with gas prices, the 4x4 lifted truck market isnt so hot.

i know i booked it out bone stock, i added the bed liner and the running board. The reason why im sellingit is the get out of the payment, I drive a truck so im not driving it much, but here is a pic any way.

4x4 + lift = Less worth, altered suspension/ride height/ Liability to the auto re-seller whom buys it.
I've been working at an auction facility for the last few months. 4x4 rangers, all 2005 or newer, with less then 40k miles in EXCELLENT condition aren't even fetching 10grand. F150's LOADED, they used to be 38grand off the lot.. their going for 8500$ ( same years/miles as the rangers ).
The market is SCARED right now from all the speculators believing gas prices will be 7$/gallon in less then 2 years. The dealers in this area are snagging up all the eco-boxes they can for ( what *I* would consider ) to be over-priced rates.

I need to get a trade appraisal to see about that one; if the opportunity arises i'd do the opposite of what others are doing and trade back into a small truck.
i doubt you can get more then 14k for it(the ranger)

Today was auction day. The F150's crashed down even more. 7grand fetches a loaded 4x4.
There were quite a few rangers, I took a swipe at one ( Pre-bid ) and the dealer didn't even think about it. It was a white fleet truck. 6 foot bed, 4cyl/auto, 31,000 miles, 2006 model. It sold for 9 grand!
Expeditions, Navigators.. 06 and newer in mint condition.. ' pass '. Didn't even get a bid on them at 8-9 grand. They re-ran them after the FoMoCredit line was done.. still, nobody took a swipe at them.
Cobalts, Neons, Focus and Malibu's are pulling a good penny.
Rice isn't really being bought, neither is kraut. They had a LOT of cars that have run the auction for the last 3 weeks that never sold. Nobody want's them for some reason.
The best way to see what your truck will sell for is to do a little shopping yourself. Ebay, craigs list, autotrader.com and any online classified will give you a good base price. Start shopping as if you were looking for a truck like your and see what they are going for. You will be suprised at the dealt out there. I picked up my '99 with 98,000 miles for $4000.
