Rubbing on frame rail

I've got a nice big shiny spot on my driver's side frame rail, in the rear wheel well.

It looks like it's from the brake lines that come down the driver side and cross over the leaf springs.

Can someone snap me a pic of how the brake lines are supposed to be routed?

There's two lines. One's a brake line and i'm assuming the other one is a parking brake cable. which one is inboard?

There's no spring, it's like a 10 gauge steel wire.

That's a hanger holding your passenger side parking brake cable.

Applying/releasing your parking brake changes the tension in the cable, and the movement of the cable rubbing against the frame has caused the shiny spot - at least that's what caused a similar situation in my truck.

What I did: cut a piece of heater hose and wrapped it around the cable before it rubs through its cover (I did the same thing to the parking brake cable where it runs over the top of the springs), then applied paint/undercoating/rustproofing to cover up that shiny rust prone metal, and keep an eye on it, because it'll still be rubbing.

notice they added extra rubber to the areas it rubs... and they wonder why they have no money when they take short cuts that could cost someone their life

^ That's the passenger side parking brake cable - does the same thing on mine.

Again, I cut an old piece of heater hose and wrapped the cable (used plastic ties to zip it in place) in the area that was rubbing to give it some extra padding.
