Wiring Rear Back up lights and CB

I'm having a hard time finding a good source to power up a CB I want to install and I'd like to install a set of 55w driving lights that will be used for lighting up the bed of 2008 Ranger and to provide a little extra light backing up when it's needed. The lights will be mounted up high on my Back Rack.

I would also like to permenitly install a CB, now the hot wire (fused) is coming off the battery.

I will be using a relay for the lights. Where is the best place to connect the hot wire needed for the CB, and the hot wires for the lights and relay?

Dan

I would run both to the battery its safer and you know the wire size all the way to the power source.

I have my hellas taped into a wire under the dash that I tested to be always hot. Then have it run to a switch so i can turn it on and off

Thanks for the tip. I get nervous when it comes to tapping into OEM wiring, but with the modern taps like posi tap I guess there isn't anything to be nervous about.

This might help a little.

Pwr for lights and CB should be direct from the battery on a fused line; each component on its own line.
Relay power can come from almost anywhere but the fuse panel is the best place, use a fuse in that line too.
