wont go into gear and maybe bent frame, need help!

saturday, coming home from the vermonster, me and kyledm18 decided to hit up a trail that was on the way home. long story short, my truck got buried and had to stay the night. sunday when trying to get it out, it wouldnt go into gear. got it out, checked the clutch fluid and it was empty. filled it up and it still doesnt work. drove it down the road to a gas station and noticed that the driver side rear corner of the bed sticks up higher then the rest of the bed. i think my frame got bent from being yanked on. also my parking break and abs light are on.

what do you think might be wrong with my clutch? and is it possible that my frame could be bent? and why would those 2 dummy lights be on?

this is the only picture i have. its from my phone. kyledm18 has a whole bunch on his camera.

Holy ****!!!

sounddeveloper 05-05-2008 08:55 PM

that is crazy holy crap. all i can say is wash it and start looking around you seem like a smart guy do you have BL if you do maybe check to see if you blew a block or broke something did you yank on it hard enough that you would bend the frame or who knows maybe your suspensions is just a little off from being parked and flexing all night i know mine did when i had it stuck in a swamp

05edge 05-05-2008 09:09 PM

i do know some stuff but not everything. it got yanked hard enough where the driver of the other vehicle slammed his head off his dash(thats a whole other story). yes it has a body lift and i didnt see anything wrong with the block, but i didnt get a very good look at it.

i really hope u just broke a lift block or something busted loose. a bent frame is like the worst nightmare come true!

05edge 05-05-2008 09:22 PM

im more worried about why it wont go into gear. i have a friend whos dads owns a collision shop with a frame machine. i could fix it for free.

Rangerguy 05-05-2008 09:41 PM

 WoW!

Shaklakan 05-05-2008 11:18 PM

leaving it in the water/mud over night might have done in the transmission. And btw how did you get it to the shop if you couldn't get into gear? Just curious...

vansnxtweek 05-05-2008 11:21 PM

Duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuude. Hope you can fix it

the clutch worked just enough where i could start it in gear and it wouldnt move. i drove it out to the main road and had it towed back.

Holy **** that's a mobb sesh for sure.
Damn brother

whippersnapper02 05-06-2008 11:46 AM

Your going to have to do a lot to get that back on the street. Front diff fluid, transfercase fluid and maybe front axle seals. As far as the tranny, it sounds like mud got inside the slave cylinder and screwed it all up. Good luck with that one.

zabeard 05-06-2008 11:47 AM

you probably have air in the clutch and it needs bled. that is where i would start.

if it sat in mud/water like that over night you need to pressure wash that whole thing down and get it clean. then change all the fluids.

oh and your frame, yeah its prolly bent

n3elz 05-06-2008 12:35 PM

It's happened enough I would expect folks to know: when you're buried that deep yanking on it is a bad idea. Slow removal with a winch where you can control the pressure is really needed.

Sorry that happened to you and it may be bent.

Check your wiring to the rear diff and front axle for the ABS sensors, and make sure your parking brake can return fully up. You may also have damaged a brake line and have a leak so check the master cylinder and see if it's going down.

Fusion 05-06-2008 12:43 PM

 that sucks ! Hope you get it cleaned up and haven't bent the frame. Sorry about the luck man =\

i planned on changing all the fluids. i know one axle seal is gone. if my slave was messed up and leaking, would it leak out onto the ground?

thats what i was thinking, since i didnt lose all pressure. im going to wash it down really good once its unloaded off the flat bed.

iv known this, and i never yank to pull someone out, but i guess the person who tried pulling me out didnt. its still my fault though for making sure he didnt yank on it.

Downey 05-06-2008 02:06 PM

yes it will leak onto the ground it will leak out the front of the tranny.

05edge 05-06-2008 08:03 PM

it hasnt leaked yet, so thats a good sign.

kyledm18 05-06-2008 08:36 PM

u broke it...:(... but i ripped off my rear bumper and bent my front crossmember where the towhooks bolt on out 4"+...we both got alot of work to be doing, and im looking to buy
a truck strictly for wheeling so i dont really have to worry bout my ranger breaking too much

05edge 05-06-2008 08:46 PM

i wonder if ed fixed his bumper yet? we need to fix my ranger then finish my bronco since i cant wheel the ranger no more.

kyledm18 05-06-2008 08:54 PM
