is there any way to get this working on our trucks??? i don't know what all sensors it connects to and how hard it would be.. i'm tempted to try it out and play around with it

I have seen one of those computers in a ranger before, but I dont remember where or whos truck it was.

you will have to replace the entire wiring out of the Explorer.....the Ranger PCM is not capable to operate that and there isn't the sensors in a Ranger to show its readings...

The Explorer "Message Center" taps into several places and most of it would be straightforward. The Explorer has a washer fluid level sensor that is not on any Ranger and an oil level sensor in the oil pan that is not on later Rangers. These would need to be added or jumped out.

The biggest potential problem is that the MC uses a fuel flow input from the PCM to calculate all of the trip computer functions (MPG, DTE, etc.). This is not wired on Rangers. Since the Message Center is not an option on Rangers, the value is probably not calibrated in the PCM and, for all I know, there may not even be an output enabled on that pin from a Ranger PCM.
