Mustang shelby cobra rear diff cover, custom paint - PA

2 Attachment(s)
Well I went to install the prototype Shelby diff cover today. Turns out the 1 inner fin comes too close to the 4:10 gears, so I am not going to use it. I figure I would rather see someone use it than have it on a wall collecting dust. This is 1 of 7 prototype covers for the shelby that Ford made, Ford has since destroyed the other 6, so from what I am told, this is the only prototype cover that reamains. It has been painted Toreador red, silver metallic striping. This cover will be up for grabs on here for a week only, then it goes to auction. I am asking 200.00 shipped obo, shipping anywhere to the lower 48 US states, Priority mail with tracking.

now, didn't somebody warn you about that clearance??

why don't you just grind it down?

Clinton 05-21-2012 04:43 PM

I dont want to grind it down and mess up the structural integrity. Besides, I'd probably ---- it up and chop it in half or something

Taylor 05-21-2012 05:01 PM

WOW. That thing is beautiful!

Too bad it didn't fit.

GLWS.

FULLSCALE 05-21-2012 08:06 PM

That's too bad... you did a great job on it!

Clinton 05-21-2012 08:09 PM

Thanks, I'm disappointed about it. I want to keep it BUT I want to use it. I may have to check some local machine shops or something to trim it down. If nothing comes of that it goes to the local auction house

2004xlmiller 05-21-2012 10:39 PM

i say fix it and keep it.

morris 05-21-2012 10:45 PM

just keep it, piece of history if the other 6 are gonzo.

01RangerEdge 05-21-2012 10:51 PM

I wouldn't sell it

joshyddog 05-21-2012 11:52 PM

would you do 100 shipped?

Clinton 05-22-2012 06:32 AM

Sorry josh I am a little flexible on the price but not that flexible

andrew_deaton 05-22-2012 06:38 AM

my votes with everyone else. Just keep it because one day your gonna think man I bet thats worth alittle more than 200 now.

06RangerXLT 05-22-2012 07:21 AM

take a dremel to it, call it a day. its gonna get beat up on a truck regardless.

Clinton 05-22-2012 06:13 PM

I'll take your advice and keep it. My brothers business partner has a milling machine so he is going to mill the inner fins down!

joshyddog 05-22-2012 07:23 PM

dang it.. I was going to put it on my wall...

FULLSCALE 05-22-2012 07:27 PM

Any pics of the inside? Just curious what it looks like.

Clinton 05-22-2012 08:20 PM

Ya know, I never did get pics of that!! Sorry dude, I was so focused on the outside I didnt think of that

99DangerRanger 05-22-2012 09:24 PM

Yea I'm curious as to what's so different and special other than the fact it was a concept. Also did you hand paint those fins? It looks amazing!!!

Clinton 05-22-2012 09:27 PM

Thanks, yes I painted it all.
