I have searched the posts and have found some usefull info, but I still am a bit fuzzy about the details.

I have an 04 ext cab ranger xlt 4x4 5spd. I have the factory 60/40 seats, but the drivers is messed up and has a huge chunk of foam missing (dont know how this happened).

Basically what fits in an 04 ext cab? I would like buckets. But I also wouldnt mind a great shape replacement 60/40. Also what is the cheapest option?

What year explorers?? Rangers? Any help here would be great thanks.

wheres that foam missing from on your 04 drivers seat?

 

foam is missing where...if a burning baseball fell out of your left pant pockets and burned a hole right there (haha that is the size of the hole and location)

 

i know that the frame mount are diffrent mounting points from 03-04+ but if your handy you can swap frames to accomidate new seat on old frame if you want exploder seats your s.o.l power mec's are in the way

 

Silver, a member on here, has 04 seats in his 03. direct bolt in.

all ext cabs 98+ will bolt in. explorers will bolt into ext cabs as well. the power seats will bolt right in as well.

 

Hey thanks man. Is there any specific years that the explorer have to be to be a direct fit?

 

95-01 explorer, and up to 03ish sport trac/explorer sports.

if they basically looks like these, they should work.

If you haven’t purchased your seats yet try this.
JY run… find an 04 passenger seat the same as yours.
Take your Driver’s Side 60% Seat apart and remove the Seat Slider Track.
Put the Driver’s side track on the passenger seat Seat Pan.
Yes they are the same thing, there are holes on both side so the seats can be interchanged.
You will not have the Lumbar Support System but that can be swapped later on.

Before you buy the other passenger seat, take a look under the existing drivers 60/40 seat and see if the track bolts on as my 03 did; if so then everything will swap.

 

I'm trying to get a plan together to put Acura Rsx type s seats in mine over summer. I have the stupid bench seat in my truck now which just so happens to be an 04 if you want it. It's in decent shape, I mean it's got all the foam haha
