2004 standard cab seat swap options?

I've searched and searched but I just keep getting frustrated by not finding out what I really need. I will be building a custom center console/sub box and I need to get rid of the 60/40 seats that are currently in there to put the box in between the seats.

What type of seats would fit right in? I really don't want to modify seat tracks because I don't really have the tools. Anybody can help me out? I need single seats, not 60/40.

you can get regular bucket seats out an xcab ranger but the room between the seat isn't all that much.

False. extended cabs have different seat tracks than standard cabs. They won't bolt it.

OP, you need to find standardcab bucket seats or do the 60/40 mod...cutting out the center section. Some people have taken the seat tracks out of earlier model rangers (the ones that the seats and tracks aren't one unit), and have bolted them to expo seats or mustang seats.

Didn't know that. then again never had a reason to know that.

That go for the 60/40 seats in the x cabs to?

Yes. The floor pans on the standard cab and extended cab are a lot different. If you notice in pictures and stuff, the standard cab tracks are really long, and the extended cabs are really short

so, would explorer seats be an option? If so what years would bolt in? I just need to get rid of the 60/40.

explorer seats bolt in an ext cab. you would have to swap tracks to get in a reg cab. rumor has it 93-97 reg cab tracks will fit a 98+ reg cab. i can't confirm this. but if it's true, then it opens it up to mustang, explorer, and several others.

You say swap, meaning the tracks would bolt on w/ little modification, or welding involved. Worst case scenario I can get them custom fitted

for a 98+ reg cab, it would still involve cutting of the old tracks and putting them on the new seat. there is a thread from a guy that is doing just that.
