Yep, if i got a cluster from a 2002 sport track that was NOT 4x4, and put it in my truck. Would the 4x4 light up when i turned it on?

If you got a 4x2 cluster, it won't even have the 4x4 lights on it.

 

so you mean shine throught the gauge? probably not. but if it does it will just be a blob of light, it wont say 4x4

 

CRAP......lol i bid on one and it didnt say if it was 4x4 or 4x2.

 

I'm sure you can always buy the 4x4 overlay and pop a bulb in the back of it, because i remember seeing a 4x4 high/4x4 low spots for the bulbs on the back of my 4x2 cluster.

 

by the picture does this look like a 4x4 ? i cant remember where the 4x4 lights are for sure but i wanna say right hand side? i know it sounds stupid since i got a 4x4 but i cant remember plus im at work right now.

 

4x4 is on the right side vertically between speed cont and o'd off on the cluster diabolic posted.

 

ok i have a question for someone ? I took my door handles off well my frames to paint them and my radio face frame but stupid me i forgot to sand them... so i wanted to go paint them back the origional color but since i didnt sand them they look like crap.. and since i didnt by paint it was gloss i bought or i think it might have been primer spray paint.. but does anyone have any sugestions on how to repair them there for a 2000 ford ranger thanks a lot

 

would this work with a v6 3.0 engien or just for a 4x4 ?

This is the back of my standard cluster. I'm guessing where there are empty holes, you can stick lights in them and just buy the 3rd overlay w/ 4x4 lights like i said in my other post. Just a thought...

 

Ok, thanks ALOT Diabolic.....Now would the 4x4 overlay from my stock Cluster work on the Sport Track Cluster? if not where would i get it from?

 

I emailed a guy from ebay about a cluster for my dads F-150 4x4. This cluster he was looking at was from a 4x2 expedition.....Now the guy claims all you have to do is put the bulb in, and it already has the 4x4 Overlay thing on the cluster.....So, is the 4x2 guage i want to buy, going to be the same as the one for an f-150?

 

If it was me, and I couldt get the light on the cluster to work I would just put two little led's somewhere on the dash in two colors, one for 4hi, and one for 4lo
