i have limited explorer seats in my truck! i doubt that you want to spend as much as i did, but regular x seats should work just fine. your 98 has the same interior as the rangers up until 03 right? if so then i believe that your mounting system should be the same as the X, just like on my truck.

i really like those seats. i like how they look. i dont know as though i need all those creature comforts though. as long as they are beige, leather, and go forward and back ill be ok. hehe. i am not sure bout the mounting system up until 03. sorry man. i will have to do some investigation via the ford dealer to see what models came with what. i am also checking car-part.com for them.

does the seat belt spot(on the seat) look like mine? is so then i think it should be the same. try to get me a pic of where the seat mounts to the floor(a side shot) and i might be able to tell you.

you can find regular X seats that are leather, power, and some have power lumbar. any 1995-2001 seat should work. also if you get leather make sure that you take care of it

Not sure but I have heard that the 2001-back Ex seats bolt into 98+ Supercabs but that they don't fit regular cabs. I think it was something about the seat tracks being incompatible.

For the people who have put Explorer seats in the Rangers, especially power is that a real chore or is it just a matter of running some fat *** power lines to move the seats. I want those seats only in black or gray!!!

I assume this means that ALL 1995-2001 Explorers seats "should" be a direct bolt in, regardless of power or no power, leather etc.???

Just pick your color and your options basically?

It's easy if you only want the various power functions to work. Just run a 25 amp circuit, correctly fused and wired, split it to the hot wire (black/white) of each seat and run a ground from each (black). If you want other stuff like heated seats and memory seats, that involves modules and switches and more wiring.

you are correct about regular seats, they are very easy to do. my seats are extremely hard though. it requires a lot of wiring, but no modules or extra switches decides stock
