bench vs. buckets

I'm thinking of switching from buckets to a bench for the middle seat, but I've heard negatives about the bench, I'd like to hear people's opinions as to which they like better and why :)

Explorer buckets are 100x more comfortable than the 60/40 "bench" seat that comes stock in 95% of all Ranger....

I hated my bench, I ended up cutting it up to make two buckets out of it, then i junked them in favor of PRP buckets.

if you wanna carry another person get a bench. I don't really mind either way.

I just replaced my 60/40 seats with explorer limited leather, heated buckets. The comfort difference is astounding.

When I test drove my 08, I sat in both a bench and buckets. I chose the buckets because thy are waaaaaay more comfy and I knew it would be tight with a 3rd person up front.

My gf refuses the back seat. Her father sat back there one time and he's probably 6ft 230 or so. Personally I wouldn't sit back there, though it's probably safer than the middle in the front.

I had an s10 that I put buckets in. But I went back to the bench which I found much more accomodating to passengers who might have an interest in inspecting the underside of the steering column while the vehicle is in motion.

I bought mine with the 60/40 bench so i had the option of an extra seat if needed. Now that i bought an explorer for the wife, i wish i would have gone with the buckets in leather. Not that i don't like the bench but i don't see myself every using the middle seat and i like leather and the bigger center console that fits with the buckets. I also have an extended cab. If i had a regular cab i wouldn't want buckets

I like my 60/40 seat. Makes working in the cab a little easier when you have the seat all the way across. If i could find a cheap set of buskets that are not leather, I hate leather seats, Imight go there. But until then I'll stick with what i have.

in extended cabs yes with the exception of the lower seatbelt track (you can swap your stock seatbelt track for the Explorer one and it will work; i did it)....for regular cabs, you will have to get manual Explorer seats and swap your Ranger seat tracks with the Explorer seat tracks for them to work...
