You can still do it with jumpseats. Its not as great, but it works https://www.ranger-forums.com/forum2...light=platform |
How thick is the MDF board? I want to do this to put my wires and strobes supplies in.. I was going to use some plywood. What would be a safe thickness to be strong but not to thick so as to loose all my storage space?
|
Looks good!! I did the exact same thing to hide my amps and then set my system on it
|
thanks 4 those dimensions there Tony. I wanna do somethin similar to that....now i have a reference to go by.

Wow this thread is old. |
hmm that actually is a good idea... i might do it just for extra storage space.

I have no need for jump seats, but do need extra cargo space. So out with the jump seats, jump seat seat belts and jack. In their place I fabbed up a new rear panel and an extended cargo floor to cover the hump where the jump seats were.
The rear panel is Masonite and the cargo floor is MDF. The rear panel is made up of the top portion of the original panel and the Masonite extension. The patch in the center of the top part of the rear panel is cut from the bottom part that was cut away and discarded. The patches for the seat belt holes in the rear doors are cut from that same scrap panel. The cargo floor bolts in solid using the same mounting points as the jump seats, using stainless button-head allen bolts. It extends to a point just in front of the lap belt attachment points for the front seats. Both front seats can be put all the way back and fully reclined and not hit the floor extension. Everything is carpeted to match the original carpet as close as possible. I would say just measure your truck. and if you don't trust the measurements then mock it up out of cardboard. I do that all the time

^^^^ That's really slick!! I like! :)
Ok. Finally got mine in working model form. I'm going to paint the bottom gray and carpet the top to keep stuff from sliding. Installed my amps inside too. Check it out. -Chance |

How can I see these pictures? I cant find em!! You're going to need a time machine to 2006. If you want to built a platform in the back of your truck its really easy, just measure with a tape and then fit it in and trim to make it fit perfectly. It actually is quite square in the back of the ranger. |
I don't see any pics,
