The explorer console is ready to mount, but have one simple question...


The duct work underneath in the console, including the fan, does it have to be cut and removed to fit properly on the floor?

I haven't really heard much about what guys are doing when installing theirs, all I see is the finished product.

 

It unbolts and pops off. I didn't have to cut it out of mine, but I also completly disassembled my console, which is easier than you think. My cardomain site has install info, but I recommend removing all the ductwork at the very back of the console, especially the fan assembly as it is unnessary weight and waste.

 

You also might be able to get some $$ for the fan motor and duct work on Ebay. I am pretty sure I have seen them selling before on ebay because I am sure that it is something that goes bad on an older Exp.

 

i have the same problem right now. my '98 center console is busted off, and i need to install a replacement for it. how do i do this??
