change holder
change holder
im sick of my change rattling to **** in my truck. i just have to put it in my pocket, which i HATE. even in the glove box you can hear it. i see those change holders at walmart and such but im sure they wont work. so basically what im asking for is a sound proof change holder. maybe like a tin can wrapped in dyna-mat LMAO! but seriously, im sure somebody has rigged something up.
hahA i hate change in my cup holder and the little press in change thing doesnt hold enough... so i took my old cell phone box it was for a chocolate and cut the top off and keep it under my passenger seat... its OK, change bounces out and get on the carpet when wheeling. but i dont really hear it at all and its out of the way... and it nice and accessible cept when you have a bunch of stuff in the extended cab then you cant reach your arm back there then the cup holder fills back up haha... so yeah its not too bad
You can get a generic coin holder at any auto parts store. Most of the center consoles and armrests have the two plastic tracks that it will slid onto.
I have the center armrest with the cup holder and I just got a generic coin holder for it. It doesn't fit much change, but it's better then nothing. I just usually put my change loose in the armrest. I cut a non skid mat for the bottom of it. It prevents everything from sliding around in there and rattling around.

I have all the coins in the spring-loader and the pennies in the ashtray.... I don't really hear them but I have other stuff in there too. I know you said the spring loader doesn't hold a lot but it never really is a problem for me. When it's full I just empty it into a jar in the house and start over.
My truck came with the "smokers package", part of which is an ashtray that fits into a cupholder. That's what I use. Doesn't rattle too bad and holds change, keys, rolaids etc. All part of my caffeine and nicotine fueled lifestyle!
If you have an aftermarket radio and have extra DIN space underneath you can get a Taurus Cup Holder/ Coin Holder. It's a single DIN size and it should fit underneath the radio. I did this in my old Civic and loved it. I may do this again when I get a new radio. Here's a picture of what I'm talking about.
