Check Gage light comes on when accelerating

Hello all,
My check gage light has been coming on for a few seconds when I accelerate from a stop. When I'm driving at a constant speed it usually doesn't light up. My oil pressure gage is below the pin, so I can tell that it wants to be up, but cannot tell where it wants to be. Fixing that will be my first step, does anyone know anything about this particular problem? Could it be my gas cap? Thank you.

Possible easy fix: Check your brake fluid level and adjust to near the MAX line. Low or even mid-range brake fluid level may cause Check Gage light on accel.

I'll do that after work. When I open the brake fluid reservoir, I don't need to worry about air pressure, correct?

Cap should be vented to atmospheric, so there should be no pressure differential. Always good to be cautious though.

Brake fluid was fine, my oil pressure gage is below the pin. I'm going to fix that today after work hopefully, and while I'm in the cluster I might as well put in the LEDs from my old truck.
There's another sound that has come up. When I start up the engine there's is a flutter sound coming from somewhere near the back of the engine/front of the transmission, I think. It's hard to pinpoint. Originally I thought the fan was hitting something, but the sound isn't coming from that far forward. From some quick searches, I've found piston slap, or possibly the timing chain? The truck has 119000 miles on it, and I have no idea if the timing chain has been replaced, or if I even have a chain or a belt. From driving last night, I think the sound gets quiet after driving for a while. If it was the chain then it wouldn't change, right?

There was an oil leak in the valve cover. Fixed that, and my oil gage is back to where it should be. All is well :)
