I REALLY like what you did!!!

What color did you paint it with? Did you use the VHT plastic paint that matches Ford colors? I used that to paint my a-pillar gauge cluster bezel and it's fantastic stuff.

TY John. No, I couldn't find the VHT paint and Krylons smoke gray was way to light so I had to use Rust-Oleum Charcoal Gray, which I think is still too light, but its all I had to work with. In fact all the parts were just stuff I had laying around the house less the construction paper I used to skin it.

If I had to do it over there would be a few changes in the brackets (Used Hack Saw Blades lol). But over all, I'm satisfied with the outcome.

I may try covering it with some OEM Fabric from a used headliner down the road.

Na, when I'm not using the radio I'll pull the mic and stow it in the glove box.

Great job on that OHC I think it'd look sweet if you carpet it.

TY Winks. I was thinking of some OEM Fabric from a used headliner. I have access to a wrecked 2000 with the same material and color. That should blend it right in.

I mounted my CB on a bracket which leaves a gap over it and I tuck the wire in there when not in use. Otherwise it whacks me in the head, lol.

That would look nice covered in headliner fabric. I bought the VHT on ebay as no one locally carried it. Funny story though: within an hour after I bought it the vendor was banned from ebay!!! I have no idea why. I emailed him and he assured me I was going to get my order and I did -- but it was pretty wierd to look at my "won" summary and see "no longer a member" on that latest entry under his user name. Strange thing is he had lots of sales and good feedback.

I haven't taken off road yet, but I imagine it's gonna swing a bit. Could add a rubber band to the cord if it becomes obnoxious...lol

Yeah that would have made my heart pound a bit to see the seller banned right after placing an order.

Maybe he got caught using more than 1 user name to bump up bids on his items. I can imagine that this is becoming a problem. At least he came through for you.

Yeah, and his price for the paint was the cheapest by a little bit. I don't know. Maybe he wasn't an authorized dealer or something. Sometimes people are up to something that doesn't confront their customers with any problems and they buyers like it -- but it's some kind of murky legal thing. Who knows? I didn't ask and he didn't offer to tell me. I got my stuff, and the police didn't contact me -- so it's none of my business, lol.
